Custom computers advice?

I’ve had a Dell computer for about five or six years and it hasn’t seemed to work right from the start. It has never been able to play a decent game and usually freezes whenever it tries to do something that takes up the whole screen.

I want to buy a custom computer, but don’t know the first thing about the inner workings of a computer. I wouldn’t like to go more than ,000 but can if I absolutely have to. Here is what I want:

MUST HAVE
-Basics (internet, word processor, ect.)
-Can play any game on the market today
-As few glitches as possible
-The best virus/spyware/addware protection

PREFERABLE BUT OPTIONAL
-Laptop
-Mac (I know it’s not the best for gaming, but I’ve heard that there are some things that can be installed to change that)

Anyone have any suggestions? I’m aware that even if I blew every cent I have to get the best computer ever, it will be obsolete in a month. Any good websites that sell these things already made or have some pricing guides would be great. Also, if there are any aspects to this process that I should take into consideration but don’t know about, please let me know. Thanks.
Sorry, forgot to include this. I’d really like specifics. What kind of processor or what kind of graphics card. I don’t know what parts are most vital for what I want.
